Overcoming fear #2: using flash indoors.
Having read at my leisure about all sorts of photography related materials in the past couple of days, I've decided to learn a bit more about technique and do things that I was always reluctant to do before (because I didn't know how to do it right). Using high ISOs effectively was one of them, and now using flash indoors has been another. This was taken slow-synch with a 1/15 sec shutter speed in an area that was almost totally dark (which required having to manual focus and guess too, as my camera has notoriously bad low-light AF and no AF assist lamp). I had to meter the flash down by -1EV, which still produced acceptably bright results without overexposing anything.
