And thus ends my extended sabbatical from this site, and the internet.

Moving into a new apartment has been fraught with a great deal more of unncessary difficulty than I had imagined. First, the apartment wasn't ready to be moved into even though I called twice to make sure beforehand, which required delaying my move-in until Thursday -- one day before I started work. Aside from that, my time thus far here has been busily spent shopping for furniture and essentials, assembling said furniture, unpacking, arranging, and spending time with my parents and their local friends. This is probably the first time I've had to myself since I've gotten here, and though quite excited about the opportunities that await here, I'm pretty exhausted.

Getting cable internet installed was another adventure in itself, which I won't get into aside from mentioning that I was supposed to be online by Tuesday night.

Anyway, here's a catch from Chi-town's Chinatown. One good thing about point & shooters is that if they have a flip-out LCD, you can compose some neat shots without having to lie down on the ground.
