Otakon '05: Escalating |
August 25, 2005

One of the few working elevators at the convention. I think because of the sheer mass of people there they had to turn off most of the elevators (or maybe they broke) because they're probably not used to supporting 30 people on it at virtually all times. I don't know what to say about this shot aside from that I'm pretty happy and surprised that I got an acceptably sharp picture at 0.4 seconds, which produced some lovely motion blur from the pedestrians.
What's funny is that, as I was framing this shot, people were politely waiting for me to take the picture before getting on the escalator (doesn't escalator seem like a poor word choice? they go down too!) when in fact I wanted them to be part of it! I would take a shot and look up to see inquisitive faces waiting for me to give some sort of go-ahead. Some people are too considerate!
